Ice and snow are expected to start falling as early as Friday in states like Texas and Oklahoma. As the storm progresses, it will drift into the southern regions, bringing freezing rain and sleet. Ultimately, it will make its way toward the Northeast, where the National Weather Service estimates that approximately one foot (30 centimeters) of snow could fall between Washington, D.C., New York City, and Boston.
